RULES FOR LIVING Children's Casting

We are looking for 2 girls (to alternate in the one role) to play the role of Emma in our production of RULES FOR LIVING by Sam Holcroft, directed by Simon Godwin. The children need to between 5ft and 5ft5. The character plays a pivotal role in the last scene of the production. 

"Everyone creates their own coping strategies or rules for living. But what happens when an extended family gathers for a traditional Christmas dinner, and each of them rigidly follows those rules?

Christmas day will never be the same again. As the drinks flow and the obligatory games intensify, family resentments rise and relationships are pulled apart with a bang – like oh so many Christmas crackers."

Production Assistant

Rose Theatre Kingston is seeking a production assistant to support the Executive Producer in all aspects of producing and programming. This junior position is a wonderful opportunity for somebody who has already had experience of producing either professionally on a modest scale and/or perhaps at university.
Knowledge of the process is required plus excellent reading and writing skills. Problem solving and a meticulous attention to detail are essential, as is a positive attitude and outlook.
Must be able to start soon. This position is an initial 9 month fixed term contract.

Operations Assistant – Part Time 20 hours per week
 
Rose Theatre Kingston is looking for a bright, enthusiastic individual to join this vibrant and exciting producing theatre to work as an Operations Assistant within the Front of House & Events Assistant.
 
The key objectives of the post are –

  • To ensure the theatre is clean, tidy, well maintained and set up as required to facilitate the smooth operation of all events and performances
  • To physically set up furniture & equipment for events within the building
  • Oversee the repair and maintenance all theatre facilities including plant, equipment and IT by working closely with our appointed contractors
  • To work proactively to ensure that problems are addressed before they cause disruption to the operation.
  •  To cover Stage Door and FOH Duty Management shifts as required 

The successful candidate will be required to work flexibly according to the business requirements of the organisation which includes evening, bank holiday and weekend working.

Front of House & Events Assistant – Part Time 20 hours per week

Rose Theatre Kingston is looking for a bright, enthusiastic individual to join this vibrant and exciting producing theatre to work as Front of House & Events Assistant.

The key objectives of the post are :

  • To assist with income generation through sourcing, managing and delivering hires, events and performances within the theatre.
  • To uphold and maintain the high level of standards and quality of service expected of the Rose Theatre.
  • To be responsible for all public spaces during the opening hours of the building.
  • To assist with recruiting, retaining and rostering of casual staff. 
  • To deliver the access policy for the theatre including scheduling access performances
  • To be responsible for managing the recruitment & training of Volunteers alongside the FOH & Events Manager and to co-ordinate the use of Volunteers at the Rose Theatre
  • To regularly cover Stage Door and FOH Duty Management shifts as required including locking and unlocking the building
  • To assist in the management of all theatre facilities including plant, equipment and IT.

The post holder is required to work flexibly according to the business requirements of the organisation, working a shift pattern which includes evenings, bank holidays and weekends.
