In our tenth year of high quality summer schools for young people, the Rose is the place to come for a fun introduction to drama or to develop next-level skills.
Whether it’s a short course packed with games, storytelling and character, a full production of a Play-in-a-Week, or our prestigious Rose Academy to help you get into a top drama school, there really is something for everyone aged 7-25.
All our courses take place in beautiful Kingston, either at the Rose or one of our very local rehearsal venues.
Over previous summers, our team has included directors from the National Theatre and Royal Shakespeare Company, and even Olivier Award-winning actors! All the courses are supported by well-trained and enthusiastic assistants.
We take students from down the road and around the world – so why not join us this summer for a transformative experience!
If you would like details of our 2019 courses please contact Sarah Kingsford on 0208 939 4050 or email [email protected].
Venue: St John's Warehouse, Hampton Wick
Looking for something brilliant to entertain your child whilst you are at work? We can offer two days of unmitigated fun and games, exploring storytelling, character and literacy. In small groups with experienced and talented teachers, children quickly develop skills in team-work, leadership, creativity and self-confidence.
Venue: Richard Mayo Centre, Kingston (students to be dropped and collected from the Rose)
We love our popular three day courses, working on storytelling themes and techniques for an invited showing on day three. Working in small groups with our core teachers, children are likely to see a rapid development in self-confidence and teamwork. We encourage a creative approach to storytelling whilst working on vocal techniques, focus and character. It’s always great to see how excited the children are to share their experience with their parents.
Why not sign up for two days of games, followed by one of our themed three day courses. Five days of fun, structured learning!

The UK is home to some of the most prestigious drama schools in the world, so it’s hardly a surprise that more than one thousand applicants audition for each place. The Rose Academy is a unique and very special course that draws on the expertise of leading drama school facilitators, directors and actors to offer an insight into conservatoire training and techniques to maximise your chances of getting a place on the course you want.
