'The pavement cracked six months ago. The council sketched a warning around it with incandescent chalk, loudly proclaimed they’d repair it soon, and left.'
With a microphone each and a tale to tell, NOTA present their new spoken word storytelling show about the inhabitants of a strange street. This street has had many names but none anyone can remember. They don’t know why the lady at 53 writes postcards to herself every day, why the man at 84 is digging his way to the centre of the earth from his basement. They don’t know why noone leaves and why noone ever arrives.
From Glasgow to Portsmouth and everywhere in between, NOTA are a diverse cross-disciplined group who came together following their time as part of the Roundhouse Poetry Collective in 2016/17. They aim to reinvent the boundaries of performance poetry and collective work.
Suitable for ages 15+. Duration 60 minutes.
