Subhash Viman is a British choreographer and dancer. He came into classical dance through hip-hop, which gives him a distinct style. His ability to move in a smooth and liquid way gives his dance an unorthodox and quirky edge. The rich plethora of dance training he has brings a wide range of movement vocabulary to his choreographic work, with leaps, floor work, spins, humorous gesture and expression.
His recent movement vocabulary and choreographic credits include Murmur for Aakash Odedra, the stage adaptation of Kiran Nagarkar’s novel God’s Little Soldier produced by Theatre Freiburg, Germany and an outdoor work from Phizzical in Leicester based on the Indian mythological story of Ram Lila for the largest Diwali celebrations outside of India.
His performance credits include the Bessie award winning choreography Ecstasy for the German tour of Get on the Good Foot produced by Apollo Theatre in New York and The Nautch Girl choreographed by award winning British Kathak choreographer Sonia Sabri.
His own work includes Morphed and Fly From with Saju Hari and Three with TJ Lowe.
