★★★★ 'It's fleet-footed, big-hearted and spellbindingly vivid' The Times on last year's Christmas show, Hansel & Gretel

Based on the story by Hans Christian Andersen | Written and Directed by Ciaran McConville

When the mysterious Northern Lights appear over the city one cold, winter's day, no one suspects they might be accompanied by the Snow Queen, searching for hidden children of magic. In an orphanage tucked away in a forgotten part of town, Gerda discovers her best friend has been lured to the frozen north. Although she knows the trap has been laid for her, Gerda has no choice but to follow. Her perilous adventure involves abduction by pirates, an unlikely friendship with a reindeer called Bancu and a great battle between elves and trolls.

Hans Christian Andersen's beloved story is a journey of friendship, love and self-realisation. This spellbinding new adaptation features a wealth of local talent from the Rose Youth Theatre alongside a professional cast in a story full of Christmas heart.
