Ciaran is Director of Learning & Participation at the Rose Theatre and trained at ArtsEd.

Directing for the stage includes A Christmas Carol, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (Rose Theatre Kingston); The Enchanted Story Trail (RHS Garden Wisley); Shostakovich The Last Symphony, Touched by Fire, The Winter’s Tale, Uncle Vanya, Three Sisters and a series of short plays called Echoes of Ibsen. Ciaran has also directed numerous plays and short films for Rose Youth Theatre and the community programme here.

As a writer, Ciaran’s stage-plays include Stones, In the Way of Peace, Lay Your Sleeping Head, Our Town A Kingston Story, Pitching In, Over Me Now There is Only Blue Sky and God, Leipzig 1981, Snowbound (Trafalgar Studios), My Father the Angel (developed at the NT Studio), These Four Walls, Shostakovich The Last Symphony, MiracleBoy, The Curse of Death’s Glen, Little Crooked House, Pitching In, Touched by Fire, Immortal or the Legend of Squadron 463, The Man Who Dreamed and The Settling Dust.

For children and young casts, plays include My Kingdom is a Horse!, Erica the Viking, Scenes from Childhood, Stay With Me, The Realm, Life Above the Clouds and Pip’s War.

Adaptations for the stage include Treasure Island, Nineteen Eighty-Four, The Trial, Arabian Nights, Tess of the d’Urbervilles, Oliver Twist, Frankenstein and the hit show Horrible Histories Ruthless Romans, which toured internationally.

Ciaran is a founding director of Debut Theatre Company. He has taught at a number of leading drama schools, including ArtsEd and Guildford School of Acting.
